NDCS enrolls students throughout the school year. All students interested in NDCS are required to fill out the application packets. Once the application packet is returned with all supporting documents and fees (if applicable), an entrance interview is scheduled to meet with the Director of Operations.

Student Life

Be in the know of our students' world
Based on the uniqueness of NDCS, each student enrolled has the opportunity to participate in sports and extracurricular activities at the zoned middle or high school. NDCS also has its own student body to increase the overall academic success of each student. The student body plays a critical role in ensuring that the school is following the current trends in education.

Academics

We raise Exceptional Students
Our curriculum aligns with all traditional middle and high schools in Orange County. This allows students to easily transfer their credits to local zoned high school. Some students attend NDCS to recover credits and get into their right grades. Others however, who were unsuccessful in traditional schools attend NDCS due to the small learning environment.

Become a Sponsor

Invest in the Next Generation
Becoming a Sponsor is welcomed and encouraged by New Directions Community School. The majority of NDCS students will be first generation college graduates. Therefore, NDCS would love to have as many sponsors as possible. The primary purpose of the Sponsor will be the opportunity to provide mentoring to NDCS students.

New Directions Community School (NDCS) mission is to provide dropout prevention, credit recovery, and academic interventional services through alternative education.

NDCS is designed for at-risk students in grades 5-12 who are in danger of failing, have failed, in need of dropout prevention with academic interventions, are referred by another school in the district, or are over-aged in school.

The school’s vision is to create a small school community with focused and differentiated direct instruction in which all students are valued, accepted for who they are, and encouraged to challenge their academics toward excellence through individualized progressive student learning plans.
